Virginia and Truckee Flatcar #57, on display at the Carson City Airport in 1967. In the 1960s a group of railfans tried to revive the Virginia and Truckee Railroad by laying some track at the Carson City Airport and running Engine #202 with V&T Flatcar #57. This effort didn't last long. This car now carries passengers at the Nevada State Railroad Museum.

Source Caption: Most of his model railroad was already sold off, but his slides remained undiscovered until I found them. Many were from right after the Burlington Northern merger. One group was a July 1967 trip to photograph remnants of the Virginia & Truckee. The pictures are taken near an airport but where? The majority were from Carson City and Virginia City, with a couple from Reno and some further out. Thoughts?
