Description

A steamup at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, with locomotives #8 and #25.

#25 was built in 1905 and ran on the original Virginia and Truckee Railroad. it still runs at the museum today.

#8 was built in 1888, and never operated in Nevada aside from one year at the tourist V&T in Virginia City in 1976. It came to the Nevada State Railroad Museum in the 1980s and pulled passenger trains on the museum grounds for 30 years. In the early 2010s the locomotive was retired and is now only kept on static display.

Source Caption: Came across these very interesting pictures from a steam up at Carson City taken by Fred Klyver and now part of the collection of Rob Klyver, not sure of the date but it has to be somewhere between the late 80s and early 90s. I don't think Ive ever seen images of the engines there running tender-to-tender like this!
