Description

An elevated view of the southeast part of the downtown area of Carson City, taken from the cupola of the Nevada State Children's Home on Fifth Street. This view looks to the northwest. The Nevada State Capitol dominates the right side of the picture. To the left of that the gleaming White House Hotel can be seen. In the lower left, the tracks of the V&T Railroad can be seen, running along Stewart Street. The prominent cross street is Fifth Street. Other than the Capitol, just about everything in this photo has been demolished in the last century.
