Source Caption: Speaking of Shrimp Fried Rice and Red Lanterns…The Mandarin Garden was a Chinese restaurant located at 30 N. B. Street in the old Knights of Pythias building. My daughter in law Peggy and I had a ghostly experience there years ago when we decided to do lunch there one afternoon. We were halfway up the stairs when a man opened the outside door and start climbing the stairs behind us. When we reached the landing, we turned to look at the stranger who'd followed us up the stairs. We were both surprised to discover that we were alone. He'd been there just a few feet behind us. We'd both seen him come in the door and heard his footsteps. We decided he’d been a ghost as no one vanishes like that, there were no other doors, no other place he could have gone. We put the experience down to a curious ghost and ordered our usual—shrimp fried rice. This photo was taken that day in hopes that the ghostly gent might re-appear. See less
