Source Caption: The New Years Flood of 1997 was one of the largest on record in Northern Nevada and resulted in significant property damage throughout the region and in Sparks. The flood caused a portion of Interstate 80 to fall into what was then known as the Helm's Pit. #SpiritofSparks
