The Glenbrook

The locomotive Glenbrook sits in disrepair in Grass Valley in 1942. It was brought here to be used as spare parts for its sister engine, The Tahoe. Later it was moved to Carson City for preservation and eventually restoration.

Source Caption: Four days until the Glenbrook unveiling! After the Glenbrook's retirement in 1926 the locomotive was placed in storage in Tahoe City, California. In 1937 the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad in Colfax, California, purchased the Glenbrook as a source of spare parts for the Tahoe, the Glenbrook's sister locomotive that operated on the NCNG. In this photo from August 1942, the Glenbrook (still lettered for the Lake Tahoe Railway & Transportation Company) languishes in a state of disrepair on the NCNG at Grass Valley, California.
