Source Caption: Five days until the Glenbrook unveiling! After the lumber business ended at Lake Tahoe, Carson & Tahoe Lumber & Fluming Company principal Duane L. Bliss turned his attention towards tourism. Bliss constructed a narrow guage railroad, the Lake Tahoe Railway & Transportation Company, between Truckee and Tahoe City in California in 1899. The Glenbrook moved over to the LTR&T and hauled tourists from a connection with the Southern Pacific at Truckee to the shores of Lake Tahoe until its retirement in 1926. In this photo the Glenbrook, relettered for the LTR&T, poses at the depot in Truckee circa 1914.
