It is well known about his buffalo hunting and Indian fighting exploits and his good times with Indians as well. Few mentioned that he also said Indians told him, by campfire light, of ancient and giant, six fingered Indians that once lived on the plains as well. They would show him enormous human bones and claimed such men herded mammoths and could carry bison under one arm! Image a Kit Carson western about that.
