Description

Mt. Tallac rises over the beach and cabins at Camp Richardson/Ziegler's Grove Resort. Camp Richardson has been a popular resort destination on Lake Tahoe's south shore for over 100 years. It was first known as Copeland’s Grove Resort. It was then purchased by Captain Alonzo Richardson in 1924, and became Camp Richardson. The historic hotel on Emerald Bay Road was built in 1926. The beach area with its cabins continued to be called Ziegler's Grove Resort and then just The Grove for a while longer.
