Description

A Virginia and Truckee excursion train, fronted by engine #11 "The Reno", hauls tourists from Carson City up to Virginia City. The passengers are from the Chicago Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society; the date is July 19, 1938. Here the train is passing through the Eagle Valley, east of Carson City. This was one of the final times the V&T ran over these rails before they were abandoned.
