The final Virginia & Truckee train ever was pulled by locomotive #5. This train carried no passengers, it was a work train that moved equipment from the Carson City railyard to Reno for disposal. Locomotives #5 and #26 were scrapped, but Mail/Baggage Car #23 was able to find a buyer and still exists in California today.
