Scanned Postcard
This is the back of a postcard for the Downtowner Motor Inn in downtown Carson City, at the northeast corner of Carson and Washington streets. It says "On highways US 395 and US 50 closest to casinos, museum and state capitol. Queen beds, Air conditioning, Electric heat, phones, and T.V. In the heart of the Silver Circle - 16 miles to Lake Tahoe, 30 miles to Reno, 15 miles to Virginia City, 40 miles to Squaw Valley."
The postmark on the back reads July 5, 1969. It says your hosts are Lee and Marge Brown. Their names are stamped in next to the crossed-out names of the previous hosts, Eleanor and Mac McGowan.
The card was sent to Miss Kristin Hendershot of Orange, Calif. The message reads, "Hi. Your cat is OK. Hope you have fun at the cabin. We are enjoying ourselves up here. Love, Poppy."
