Description

An excursion train sits at Gold Hill, ready to depart back to Carson City. This was one of the last excursions to Virginia City in 1938, and in fact the passenger cars only went as far as Gold Hill because of concerns about the stability of the tunnels on the line. Only the engines continued on to VC to get water and turn around on the turntable.
