Source Caption: This is a very historic train being made up on June 4, 1938 by V&T #27. This is Train No. 1 that is bound for Virginia City. V&T #11 will take the train to Virginia City this day. This will be the last revenue freight run to Virginia City. Later in the afternoon of the 4th as the train was returning to Carson City the order approving the abandonment of the VC line was received by telegraph at the VC depot in Carson City.
