Description

Looking at Commercial Row and the railroad tracks in downtown Reno, around the 1940s. Virginia Street is the left-right street in the center of the photo. The Reno Arch can be seen on Virginia Street. At this time many businesses still faced the railroad. On the far left you can see the Freight House and the Reno passenger depot. To the right of the depot the most prominent building is the Overland Hotel. In the foreground are car lots and repair shops. This photo was taken from the McKissick Hotel at the corner of Sierra Street and Plaza Street.
