Source Caption: Back in the early 1980s an elderly couple named Riggi lived in this house which eventually turned out to be the only structure left of the many torn down for the Nugget Casino's parking lot. When I interviewed the two old people around 1981 they told me they had been married in this house in 1929 and had lived there ever since. In their kitchen they were still using the old-style refrigerator that had the round coil on top. The Nugget finally tore the old house down several years ago. The Nugget's leveling of several city blocks was finally complete.
