Abe Curry, along with three partners, founded Carson City in 1858. Curry then because the biggest promoter of the new town, and much of its early success is due to him.

Source Caption: Abe Curry is one of the founders of Carson City in 1858. He was later superintendent of construction on the Carson City U.S. Mint and was also the first superintendent of the Mint. In addition, he built the Virginia and Truckee Enginehouse before his death in 1873.
